It was 28 degrees overnight. I put the small space heater in Thelma’s water bay to stop the lines from freezing and it’s successful so we have water in the morning :-). We have a slow start in the morning to let it warm up before taking the dogs for a walk. We get to check out the marina and RV park which is very quaint and cool.
There is a stage for the bands and at the back of the store is a chicken coop. The moorings also sit behind the store and we’re literally on the banks of the Withlacoochee River. The rules for B’s RV Park are posted and their Ten Commandments are pretty cool. You can see them in the photo gallery below.
Jana has plans to cook some soup tonight so we hit the local grocery store, “Food Ranch Supoermarket”, and get to travel back in time. The people are friendly and we manage to get most of the things we need.
Organic is not a hot item here so our goal of staying organic whenever we can is compromised, but adjusting to the circumstances is a central thread throughout this trip and I’m just happy we get to have some of Jana’s famous potato/vegetable soup!
We also spotted a hardware store next to Food Ranch, “Buddy and Fred’s Hardware Store,” which is closed but definitely worth a looksee later. I need some things and it looks like a great place to obtain some hard to get items.
When we got back to the RV, we decided to take the dogs for a drive and a walk at a nearby nature preserve. Ellie’s in, but Jack is hanging back, he needs some alone time to chill. We drove across to the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve, which is a phenomenal park that has boardwalks, paths, viewing towers and more.
We all enjoyed the sunshine on the boardwalk as we passed over the swampland and saw some awesome birdlife. It’s a beautiful day and we really enjoy this time with Ellie, hanging out with the puppies.
After returning to the RV and doing some chores, we decided to head out to see the sunset and get some drone footage of the bay where the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve comes out into the Gulf of Mexico. This is called Bird Creek Beach and is a wonderful place to catch a sunset.
Jack got some tremendous shots and footage and Jana and I enjoyed the sunset. The ”No-See-Ums” were pretty ravenous, so we climbed back into the Jeep and headed back to the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve, where Jack got some more awesome footage of the area. The bugs were still brutal, so we headed back to the RV park.
That night, Jana cooked a tasty soup and we hung out. There was a Mario Kart Tournament between Jana, Ellie and Jack. This was hilarious and hard fought :-). I was studying for my boat license so I got to watch on and get some laughs and breaks from studying.
We drove across to the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve, which is a phenomenal park that has boardwalks, paths, viewing towers and more.

Happy Birthday to My Greatest Adventure Partner!
Happy 20th Birthday, Jack!
Grant’s built homes, companies, and communities, but the most beautiful thing he’s built is the life we’ve gotten to share for more than 21 years now. It’s a life grounded in love, kindness, and deep gratitude for our family and all the experiences we get to have together, thanks to him.
I love Grant’s integrity, purpose, passion, and his heart-centered generosity of spirit — whether he’s working on visionary wellness communities or transforming an abandoned shack into our next family home.
Right now, I’m so grateful for Grant’s support during the hardest health challenge of my life, whether it be helping me walk down the stairs, dressing me, driving me to endless appointments, or reminding me of my own strength when things get scary. He holds space for all of who I am, supporting the choices I make for my healing, and supporting my dreams with unwavering belief in me, in sickness and in health.
At the same time, Grant is the best dad to Jack and Ellie. Watching him with them, celebrating their gifts, supporting their journeys, and being their safe harbor is a blessing and a joy. He parents with empathy, kindness, an open mind and endless patience, and show them, every day, what it means to be a man who leads with his heart.
At work, Grant is a force of nature. He inspires positive change, connection, and makes the world better, one project at a time. But beyond his impressive accomplishments, it’s his humility, his servant leadership, and his genuine care for people that truly set him apart. Grant doesn’t just work to improve businesses, he works to improve lives.
He’s taught me that true success is measured not by what we achieve but by how much we care. And Grant cares so much; about his family, his friends, his community, and this planet we all share.
Grantly, thank you for being wild and free, for embracing life’s chaos with open arms, and for loving me and our family unconditionally.
Happy Birthday!
