Glacier National Park, MT

TOTAL MILES TRAVELED: 9,777

Today, we hiked out to Avalanche Lake.

The lake is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, and borders Bearhat Mountain and the Sperry Glacier. It has steep cliffs on three sides, with massive waterfalls cascading from the “hanging valley” formed by Sperry Glacier. It can only be reached through using the famous Avalanche Lake Trail.

During spring and early summer, its avalanches turn into dozes of spectacular waterfalls that rush down from the highest peaks.

It was a beautiful afternoon and Avalanche Lake did not disappoint!
