Well, it’s about that time. We have no real way to wash and groom the dogs on the bus, so we booked them in with a local groomer, Manny. We take the dogs over to Manny’s Pet Grooming and we’re delighted to meet Manny, a charismatic Argentinian gentleman who is obviously passionate about what he does.

With the dogs ‘entertained’ and Jack and Ellie still sleeping, Jana and I headed to Barefoot Beach to walk the beach and take the inland trail back.

It’s about 3 miles round trip and we really enjoy the quiet of the morning and the beautiful morning sky. Seashells abound and even though there’s a lot of dead fish from the red tide, the beach feels good for the heart and the soul.

We head back into Bonita Springs and do the final Christmas shopping for stocking stuffers and wrapping paper and such. Fully laden, we head back to the RV park to catch up with Jack and Ellie.

I’m finally ready to install the window on the bus’ main door, with Jack’s help, and then we go to pick up the dogs from Manny’s. He has done an awesome job and the puppies look great! We drop them back to the RV for a nap and set off to Lovers Key State Park to check it out.

The park is incredible and home to one of the newest beaches in the world, courtesy of Hurricane Charley. It’s pretty windy, so we do a little reconnaissance and head back to the RV park for dinner.

It’s burger night with real burgers and impossible burgers on the menu.

A bunch of our Christmas presents have arrived, so Jana and I decided to give the kids some of the presents in stages to offset the overload Christmas Day brings, and give them some time to enjoy some of the gifts we’ve gotten for them. Ellie gets her new swimsuit and Jack gets his new soccer ball. Both are very needed and appreciated.

After dinner, we chill out and settle in for the night. It’s been a beautiful day and a lovely night.

It’s about 3 miles round trip and we really enjoy the quiet of the morning and the beautiful morning sky.
