Travel Day | Roanoke, VA to Asheville, NC

We hit the road and head for Asheville. The Appalachian Mountains are really tough on Thelma and we have to nurse her up some monstrous mountains. She loves coasting down the other side only to grind up the next range. She’s running hot pulling the Jeep and with the weight of our clan and chattels.
We finally pull into Asheville mid afternoon and Wilson’s RV Park (which is on the river). It has been raining a lot and the RV park is a bit of a mud bog. Takes a bit to get situated and we settle in for the night.
